Gunn has confirmed that "a much, much bigger threat" will force Superman (David Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) to put aside their rivalry, and the brain imagery on the script cover has fans reading it as a nod to Brainiac potentially taking center stage as the DCU's next cosmic menace.
